For our Motherhood Project Featured Mum for August I recently interviewed Olivia Hewetson on her own motherhood journey with Leo her gorgeous little boy with Achondroplasia, the most common form of Dwarfism.
“When you have a child, you need to celebrate the child that you do have rather than the child that you think you should have, and that child probably has a lot that they could teach you, to become the person you should be. I’m a strong believer in celebrating my kids for who they are, differences and all.” - Olivia Hewetson.
80% of children with Achondroplasia (Dwarfism) are born to parents of average height.
At 41 weeks pregnant with her second child, Olivia Hewetson was sent for a routine scan to check everything was as it should be. 8 hours later Olivia gave birth to her son Leo, with a condition called Achondroplasia, the most common form of Dwarfism.
Olivia has a beautiful blog called ‘Our Little Lion’ on Facebook as well a large community Instagram following from all over the world. Olivia is real, honest and such an inspirational Mama. Olivia is one of our TMP Mums and we are so lucky to have her here.
