When you feel stressed, what do you tend to focus on?
Often as mothers we feel fear when our safety is at risk. This is not just physical safety - more often than not as mothers this is emotional safety. When we feel emotionally safe this means we feel love and when we don’t this fear manifests as stress in our mind and body.
Stress is something that we all experience and an inevitable part of life. The trick is to keep stress to a level that is manageable and does not impact our health, wellbeing and enjoyment of life.
Stress is essentially fear, and very often this fear based reaction is based on something that hasn’t even happened – we find ourselves getting worked up about what MIGHT happen. This is detrimental to our own health and here’s why:
People who are good at managing stress, also tend to be good at knowing their limit and saying no to things that they know will push them into an unhealthy stress range.
