Hi! I’m Ashlee and I’m super blessed to live in this amazing country with my growing little (big!) family!
I adopt an ‘attachment parenting’ style and live with a natural focus, which generally drives all my passions – crafts, memories, making my own food and cleaners, spending time with the kids, writing.
By day, I’m mopping floors, navigating mountainous washing piles and endless cooking/baking/preparing food/dishes.
By night, my keyboard and I become attached, and I currently write a parenting column for my local newspaper, run Facebook page ‘Ministry of Lunchboxes’ and do some freelancing writing too.
I am excited about seeing The Motherhood Project develop with collaborative writers and their contributions with different parenting styles, and I’m looking forward to learning new things from each mother!
I have my writing portfolio at www.phraseology.co.nz
Hi, I am Alisa. I am a mum of three kids (12,10,7). I am constantly trying to parent the best I can. I am constantly making mistakes and failing. I have learnt to accept that and to just aim as high as I can. Because that is actually good enough.
I have a rare brain disease. I live with chronic pain and a range of other symptoms. I have lost a bit of vision due to it. Having this disease has taught me to be grateful. Grateful for things I always took for granted. It has taught me to see things with a new perspective.
I don’t know how to describe how I parent. There are so many terms, labels. I am constantly learning. I try to do what feels right to me, for my kids. I reevaluate their needs often.
My interests include natural/eco living, reading, creating, cooking, good conversation and finding ways to balance my desire for simple living and my love for kitchen bits and bobs.

I own and operate three businesses from home while being a full time Mum as well. Needless to say, life is pretty busy! Before motherhood, I worked as a primary school teacher and I plan on returning once my boys hit school age.
I have honestly found being a Mum the most challenging thing I have ever done. Having fought my way through major post natal depression, I am a survivor and needless to say, enjoy a challenge!
So Mummies, let’s bring on Motherhood!
I have an amazing hard working hubby who agrees that our children should have a SAHM for as long as possible. To keep my mind busy, I’m quietly working on two small businesses – one retail, one service based.
Being a Mum has changed me a lot and a lot of my parenting ideas and methods have changed along the way. Being a Mum is the most challenging but rewarding job I’ve ever had and I wouldn’t change it for the world. It has given me some of the lowest lows but also the highest highs.
I’m sure we’ll laugh and cry together along the way.
Life throws curveballs… and then sometimes, everything falls into place….
